In the beginning

This truck's past is mostly unknown. An old man had owned it at the Oakville Trailer Park in Memphis, TN. He died in the mid to early 90s, and the truck had no owner. My mother owned the trailer park, and since the man, Randy, owned a bit of money, the truck became hers. It sat at the trailer park until the park was sold in 1997, and then moved to a new one a few miles away. "The Lamar Mobile Home Park." The original paintjob of the truck was a light green and at the new trailer park became a lovely spray paint black.

One day I decide to take the truck home and play with it. Some friends and I take the truck on it’s first, and last, off road adventure. It handled a large mud hole easy considering it was only a 2wd. After many rounds of that it is time to go home, but not before one last try!! Well, that was the last try all right…it got stuck in the ruts that grew deeper and deeper. Smoke was bellowing out from under the hood and the truck would not start. It was towed home and set for 9 months.

It is now mid-late 2004, I got bored and decided to start the truck. Not sure what it would need after sitting for 9 months not touched at all. Well.. The “little truck that could” only needed a fresh battery and it started right up. Time for the real fun to begin…

See the “Spray Paint Party” link for the fun that ensued.

Update to present day, May 2006. Time to actually do some work on this truck. Click the links to the left see the project. The truck is going through an extensive makeover to become a slightly respectable truck.
