Trace got a 2nd in his sweeps class at national weekend under breeder judge Kathy Stewart at 7 months. He got another placement in BBX at the National in Boston, then went on to finish his championship at the first Houston regional specialty weekend. I put him up, thinking I would start with Asher first as a special and hoped to show Trace after Asher. We were approached by handlers who had a backer that wanted a Keeshond. They had seen Asher win a group and were interested in him. I mentioned he had a littermate and they might want to look at both of them and pick between them. They chuckled, thinking their was no way I had a littermate that was a nice as this one. Well, it took them 4 hours to evaluate the two boys and make the decision and in the end, they went with Trace. Trace's career was short with them, 6 weeks, due to a split of the two handlers. However, they had already gotten him ranked to #2 Keeshond, so we wanted to keep that going and hired Wade Koistinen to handle him. Wade had given Trace a sweeps win at a supported entry in Florida. Early in Trace's career, he was 1st Select Award winner at the National in Racine. He went on to win a Best In Show and complete his Hall Of Fame. He finished that year #2 Keeshond. When we retired him, he didn't like not getting to go, so I offered him to a junior in the area. Good news, Trace, you are back in the spotlight. It was great for both of them and Sutter and Trace accomplished top KCA junior two years in a row. Sutter retired Trace from Juniors at the 2004 National Specialty going Best Junior In Show.
